Photomonograph about Croatia by Ivo Pervan published in France

The prestigious French publisher Vilo from Paris has recently released a photo-monograph about Croatia, as part of the “Memoires du monde” series. It features 300 photographs by the world-renowned Croatian photographer Ivo Pervan focusing on the natural, historical and cultural heritage of Croatia. The book was written by Sophie Massalovitch and Jean-Marie Boelle, and designed by Bower Copyright Co. Vilo are set to publish another photo-monograph about Slovania in collaboration with Pervan. They wish to make an exciting tribute to our planet, recording some of the most beautiful sights, by cooperating with famous authors and photographers.

 

About of the authors

Ivo Pervan was born in Split. Many time rewarded for quality of his work, he is one of the leading specialist photographers in this area of Europe. His photographs can be found in many tourist publications (guidebooks, posters, postcards, reviews), photo monographs, as a book illustrations, featured as individual and collaborative work.

He has published 17 and co-published 60 photomonographs while maintaining a high number of exhibitions.

His work on the cultural wealth of Croatia is highly sought after, as the cultural and natural heritage are his primarily interests. His posters have won seven prizes in world competitions and other prestigious international awards ( Prague, Copenhagen, Karlovy Vary…). One of the posters, " Split", has brought to a newly independent Croatia its first international award in 1992 in Vienna.

 

Ivo Pervan has exhibited all over the world ( USA, South Africa, United Kingdom, France, Chile, Portugal, Germany, Poland …) and represented Croatia in both EXPO-1998 ( Lisbon) and EXPO-2000 ( Hanover) in the national pavilions.

He has a slide collection of approximately 100,000 slides, which represent a great treasure in both an actual and a documentary sense. New projects include photo monographs of the city of Zagreb, the island of Hvar, the island of Vis and the Pakleni Islands.

 

Sophie Massalovitch is one of the best informed journalists on Croatia; her articles are regularly published in Figaro Quotidien and Avantages. She is the author of two travel guides, one devoted to Croatia, the other to Seychelles. Jean-Marie Boëlle, journalist and writer, has had his work published in reviews and newspapers as different as Figaro Magazine and the Car-Newspaper, VSD and Current Woman, Paris-Match and Our Time, Figaro Quotidien and Official reception.
